In collaboration with the Athens-Clarke County Police Department, the Area Sons of Allen ( including First AME, Greater Bethel AME and Saint Luke AME, utilized a $5,000 grant to provide a continuous exciting and comprehensive year-long series of activities. A group of over 15 youths are provided several workshops on character, academic success and community service in addition to several field trips that included the Birmingham Civil Rights Museum and the Warner-Robbins Air Force Base.
 
Usher Board I
The Sons of Allen partners with the Institute for Community and Organizational Development, Inc. to match at least 20 faith-based mentors with children whose parents are incarcerated, on probation or parole from state and federal correctional facilities. Jointly sponsored activities include academics, culture, sports, family support and visitations with incarcerated parents. Bro JT Jones is Program Manager for this unique mentoring initiative.
